Course Description:

The purpose of this course is to acquire knowledge and develop proficiency in caring for patients with medical and surgical disorders in varieties of health care settings and at home.

Objectives At the end of the course, the students will be able to:

1. Appreciate the trends in medical and surgical nursing, Describe the role of a nurse in caring for adult patients in hospital and community, Describe the etiology, pathophysiology, clinical Manifestations, diagnostic measures, and management of patients with disorders of the Endocrine System.

2.  Describe the etiology, pathophysiology, clinical Manifestations, diagnostic measures, and management of patients with disorders of the Integumentary System.

3. Describe the etiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic measures, and management of patients (adults including elderly) with disorders of the Musculoskeletal System.

4. Describe the etiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic measures, and management of patients with disorders of Immunological Problems.

5. Describe the etiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic measures, and management of patients with Communicable Diseases.
