Course objective:-This course is a broad introduction to the discipline of sociology. It acquaints the students with the history and some of the essential concepts and concerns of the discipline, This paper formally introduces the student to the key issues around which the everyday life in India is constructed.

Learning outcomes:

This paper focuses on the origin and development of Sociology as a different discipline. After 

studying the paper, the learner should be able to

1. Outline the background to the emergence of sociology as a discipline.

2. Understand the basic concept of Sociology and relate them to social life.

3. Overview of a sociological way of thinking

Course Outcomes:- Basic Concept in Sociology: 

Introduce new concepts of Sociology Discipline 

Enhance the conceptual learning and understanding of the basic concepts 

Contribute in enriching the vocabulary and scientific temperament of the 

students. 

Incorporate all the key concepts of Sociology 

To develop keen insights to distinguish between the commonsense knowledge 

and Sociological Knowledge.
